Vancouver was especially chilly the day of Whiney + Graeme’s engagement session (-3 to be exact), but for two hours the three of us pretended it was summertime and made beautiful photos together. The combination of their affection, the location, and the light made this session incredibly inspiring and one of my all-time favourites :)
Whitney is a super talented photographer specializing in weddings, boudoir and fashion. You can see her amazing work here. Graeme, along with a long time friend, co-founded and runs an awesome travel company called Beach Travellers (so cool). Together, Whitney + Graeme are a perfect match. Both are down to earth, beautiful (handsome in Graeme’s case), funny and creative. They treat each other with kindness, respect, patience, and you can tell they are completely in love :)
Whitney has wicked style, and seized the opportunity of her engagement session to show it off and take risks that she may not on her wedding day. Like wearing a hippie-inspired flowing dress and rocking a beautiful flower crown. Not to mention the canadian tuxedo she wore for the first part of their shoot :) With their wedding set for February of next year in Sayulita, Mexico, they incorporated a tradition mexican blanket into their session for a few frames that they plan on using for save-the-date cards.
Being a wedding photographer herself, Whitney understood the importance of an engagement session. In her words:
“Not only do I think it’s important to capture these beautiful moments but I also think it’s such a special way for a couple to enjoy each other and bask in the romance and love that comes with being newly engaged. I must say that the days following our engagement session we felt like a giddy newly engaged couple all over again!”
I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to photograph these two :)
Congrats Whitney + Graeme! XO
